Musical evening “Atameken” – a cultural event dedicated to the legacy of Eskendir Khasangaliev

The Kazakhstan Writers’ Library hosted a musical and poetry evening titled “Atameken”, dedicated to the 85th anniversary of Yeskendir Khasangaliyev, a prominent figure in Kazakh musical art, People’s Artist, singer, and composer.

The event was attended by students from Special Boarding School No. 4 for Blind and Visually Impaired Children, library readers, and art enthusiasts. The hosts, Baglan Abdikarim and Aruzhan Slambek, provided an overview of the composer’s life and introduced his works.

The evening’s honored guests included Nurdaulet Akish, writer, scholar, and chief research fellow at the M. O. Auezov Institute of Literature and Art, as well as children’s writer Kanat Kaimov.

They shared fascinating memories about the composer’s contribution to Kazakh music and his creative legacy. Throughout the evening, the audience enjoyed performances of his famous songs, including “Gul Sezim,” “Ainaldym Seni,” “Anaga Salem,” “Almatynyn Almasy,” “Ademi-au,” “Kun Didarly Kazakhstan,” and “Zhagadagy Aru Kyz.”
