A patriotic event titled “The Spirit of National Unity and Courage” was held at the Almaty Library in honor of Republic Day

On the eve of Republic Day, Branch No. 14 of the Almaty Libraries hosted a patriotic hour titled “The Spirit of National Unity and Courage.”
The meeting brought together distinguished guests — Chairman of the Council of Veterans of the Bostandyk District Ertay Dosmekenov, renowned writer and playwright Aklima Saparova, members of the Council of Veterans Khairulla Kozhakhmetov and Torekhan Kydyrali, as well as students of the Kemel Physics and Mathematics School.
During the event, participants recalled the pivotal stages of the country’s history and the heroic deeds of those who brought Kazakhstan closer to independence. Patriotic poems were recited, and videos highlighting the formation and development of sovereign Kazakhstan were shown.
A special atmosphere was created by Sagyndyk Kanzhyga, a graduate of the T. Zhurgenov Academy of Arts — singer and kuishi (traditional musician) — whose performances of folk melodies deeply moved the audience. The powerful verses of young poet Rustem Armenuly added an emotional depth to the event.
As part of the celebration, a book exhibition titled “Independence — the Pillar of an Eternal State” was presented, featuring works about the nation’s path to sovereignty, books about prominent figures, and literary pieces celebrating unity and patriotism.
“Today, we truly feel the fruits of our independence. The signing of the Declaration of State Sovereignty is vivid proof of our people’s unwavering aspiration for freedom and statehood. This date strengthens the national spirit and symbolizes an important milestone in the formation of independent Kazakhstan,” noted literary scholar and playwright Aklima Saparova.
The patriotic event “The Spirit of National Unity and Courage” became a meaningful occasion that strengthened the sense of pride for the Motherland and reminded everyone of the priceless value of independence — achieved through the perseverance and courage of the people of Kazakhstan.
