«Қайым Мұхамедханов – ұлт руханиятының шамшырағы»

On January 21, 2026, a round table entitled “Qayym Mukhamedkhanov – a Beacon of National Spirituality” was held at the Library of Kazakhstani Writers, dedicated to the 110th anniversary of the birth of the scholar, Abai studies expert, and public figure Qayym Mukhamedkhanov.

The event was aimed to analyze the scientific legacy of Qayym Mukhamedkhanov and to promote the name and contributions of the scholar.

The event was attended by Professor, PhD, Director of the Public Association “Qayym Mukhamedkhanov Center for Education and Culture” Dina Mukhamedkhan; literary scholar, Professor Serikqazy Korabay; literary scholar, Doctor of Philology, Professor Gauhar Baltabayeva; Director of the Institute of Philology of Abai KazNPU, Doctor of Philology, Professor Alua Tanzharykova; Associate Professor, Candidate of Historical Sciences, and author of works on Qayym Mukhamedkhanov, Nailya Tazhikbayeva; poet and writer, student of Qayym Mukhamedkhanov, recipient of the Order of “Qurmet” and laureate of the International Literary Prize “Alash” Abubakir Qairan; as well as writer and journalist, author of the book “Er Qazaq”, Daulet Seisenuly.

During the event, the scientific and literary heritage of Qayym Mukhamedkhanov was thoroughly discussed. Students of Qayym Mukhamedkhanov, Abai scholar and Honored Figure of the Republic of Kazakhstan Erkin Shukimanov, performed Abai’s songs. Students of the Abai National School and the Almaty Law College recited poems by Qayym Mukhamedkhanov, sharing their reflections and personal interpretations. In addition, a book exhibition titled “The Literary and Scholarly Heritage of Qayym Mukhamedkhanov” was organized, along with a presentation dedicated to the life and work of the scholar.

At the conclusion of the event, active participants were awarded letters of appreciation and commemorative gifts on behalf of the Director of the Almaty Centralized Library System.
