He was a veteran of the Great Patriotic War and the father of the second President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. Kemel Tokayev, a prominent writer who laid the foundation of the detective genre in Kazakh literature, won the hearts of the reading public with his numerous action-packed novels and novellas.
