Almaty hosts a series of festive events dedicated to International Children’s Day

Today, in celebration of June 1 – International Children’s Day, Almaty Libraries organized a range of cultural and educational activities for children across the city. As part of the festivities aimed at bringing joy and positive emotions to young participants, concert programs, educational quests, quizzes, creative workshops, book exhibitions, charitable initiatives, and interactive games were held.
A highlight of the celebrations was the event “Бақытты балалық шақ” at the S. Begalin City Children’s Library, which welcomed around 100 children. During the event, the string quartet of the Concert Orchestra of the Akim of Almaty, led by Murat Serkeev, performed a selection of musical pieces. Children also participated in an upcycling workshop and enjoyed a screening of the Estonian animated film “Лотте және ай тасының құпиясы”. The festive atmosphere was further enhanced by appearances from beloved fairy-tale characters Aldar-Kose and Pinocchio. The celebration concluded with complimentary ice cream for all young guests.
Another engaging event took place at the I. Krylov Children’s Library, where more than 100 children attended the celebration “Бақытты бала – баянды болашақ”. The program featured a quest, an open house, a concert, a presentation of new books, and a book exhibition. Special guests included Ainur Murat, member of the Union of Writers of Kazakhstan and duty editor of the magazine “Ақ желкен”; Dinara Berdymurat, head of the company Kausar; and Olga Rybakina, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the newspaper “Дружные ребята”. They congratulated the children and shared warm wishes for the occasion.
Festive activities were also held throughout the city. The Mukhtar Auezov Library organized the celebration “Бақыт деген – сенің бала күндерің” in Gandhi Park, Library No. 14 hosted the educational quest “Жайнаған балалық шақ,” Library No. 26 conducted the event “Бала тілі – бал” at Gymnasium School No. 162, and the Almaty Libraries branch at 1B Belger Street welcomed children to the morning celebration “Біз – бақытты баламыз”. Throughout these events, children enthusiastically participated in games, quizzes, creative tasks, singing, and dancing.
In addition, the Family Reading Library organized the concert program “Балалар – біздің болашағымыз” at the city Amphitheater. The event, featuring professional animators, brought together around one hundred children and became one of the day’s most vibrant celebrations.
The events, which united young residents from across the city, clearly demonstrated the commitment of Almaty Libraries to providing meaningful leisure opportunities for children, fostering their creativity, and promoting spiritual and cultural values through engaging community initiatives.
