More Than 50,000 People Visit KitapFest Book Fair in Almaty, Over 15,000 Books Sold

Today, one of the country’s major cultural initiatives, the «KitapFest» book fair, organized as part of the City Day celebrations, came to an end in Almaty. More than 50,000 people attended the two-day large-scale event held at Arbat Square. The fair became an important cultural platform bringing books and readers together.

This year, more than 60 domestic publishing houses took part in the fair, presenting new and selected books across a wide range of genres for readers of all ages. Visitors had the opportunity to purchase books at affordable prices. Over the two days, readers purchased more than 15,000 books.

In addition to purchasing books, visitors had the opportunity to meet their favorite authors and receive signed copies of their books. Ақберен Елгезек, Мирас Кесебаев, Санжар Керімбай, Бақытжан Бұқарбай and other authors presented their works to readers at the fair.

Particular attention was drawn to a special площадка organized as part of «KitapFest», which hosted creative meetings with renowned poets and writers, literary scholars, and representatives of the publishing industry. The cultural program continued with a concert evening. Artists performed on stage, including traditional musical pieces. The music program created a festive atmosphere and complemented the cultural content of the fair.

The book fair became a true celebration of literature, giving residents and visitors of Almaty an opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of books, discover new works, and meet their favorite authors. «I have been attending KitapFest for the third year in a row. I came to the fair especially today as well. I bought new books by several authors and found works I had been looking for for a long time. It was especially nice to receive a signed copy from my favorite author. I have noticed that the number of visitors grows every year. Today, once again, I was convinced that the people of Almaty have a strong interest in books», said Dana Usenkhan, a resident of Almaty, sharing her impressions of the fair.
