S. Begalin Central City Children’s Library

S. Begalin Central City Children’s Library is the largest children’s library in Almaty, where classical literature and modern technology create a unique space for young readers.
History
Founded in 1951, the library has been housed since 1971 in a 19th-century building recognized as a historical and architectural monument. In 1996, it was named after the outstanding Kazakh children’s writer Sapargali Begalin.
Book Collection
Today, the library occupies a spacious building of 3,305 sq.m. and boasts a rich collection of 475,323 books. The collection includes classical and contemporary children’s literature, popular science publications, encyclopedias, and educational materials.
