History of the Library

Founded in 1931, the library quickly became an important cultural center of the city. On June 25 of the same year, by decision of the Presidium of the City Council, its first premises were allocated in Federation Park (now the Park of 28 Panfilov Guardsmen). In 1965, the library moved to its current building at 109 Gogol Street, where it remains today. In 2020, the library underwent a full modernization.

Collection and Attendance
The library holds approximately 107,000 items and welcomes more than 130,000 visitors annually. It serves readers of all ages and interests.

Modern Technologies

The library has implemented an RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) system, including:
– RFID security gates;
– Self-service terminal.

Specialized workstations equipped with hardware and software solutions are also available, featuring audio output and Braille displays for people with special needs.
