A bright event dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the birth of the legendary composer Shamshi Kaldayakov was held in the branch No. 14 of the Almaty Libraries

The guests of the evening learned interesting facts from the biography and creative path of the musician, watched a documentary about him and heard popular songs that have long become the cultural heritage of the country. The participants performed famous works: “Barinen de sen sulu!” and “Arys zhagasynda”.

Special attention was drawn to the book exhibition “Shamshi — a life intertwined with a song”, which featured books, articles, photographs and music materials about the composer. An exciting quiz added to the festive atmosphere: participants guessed songs from excerpts, and the most erudite received memorable gifts.

Shamshi Kaldayakov is the author of many popular songs, his work is forever inscribed in the golden fund of Kazakh music.
