“A True Hero Who Loved His People”: а literary and musical evening dedicated to the 210th anniversary of Suyinbai Aronuly

On February 20, at the Central City Library named after A.P. Chekhov (109 Gogol St.), a literary and musical evening titled “A True Hero Who Loved His People” was held, dedicated to the 205th anniversary of the renowned Kazakh poet and master of aitys, Suyinbai Aronuly.

The event was attended by prominent public figures, as well as representatives of literature and the arts. Among the honored guests were writer and member of the Union of Writers of Kazakhstan Nagashybek Kapalbekuly, statesman and public figure Makhabbat Bigeldi, director of the Zhambyl Kazakh State Academic Philharmonic Akan Abduali, and a descendant of Suyinbai Aronuly, Usen Daiyrbayev. Additionally, the event was graced by the presence of Makpal Kazibekkyzy, a traditional singer and recipient of the “Excellence in Culture” award.

During the evening, Suyinbai Aronuly’s literary legacy, his significance in Kazakh poetry, and his contribution to the art of aitys were thoroughly discussed, reaffirming the deep respect for his heritage. Guests shared their thoughts on the poet’s works and provided new insights into his inspiring life and artistic journey.

The musical part of the event was also held at a high level, featuring traditional Kazakh songs and performances that honored the spirit of the great poet.
