ALMATY LIBRARIES PRESENTED AUTONOMOUS SELF-SERVICE LIBRARIES TO THE HEAD OF STATE

President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev visited the international festival “Nauryz Fest”, held on Abay Square in Almaty.

The event united under one shanyrak the culture and traditions of the countries celebrating Nauryz – Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, Turkey, Mongolia and Bashkortostan. Foreign guests presented their works of decorative and applied art, traditions and customs, and sang folk songs.

Almaty libraries, in turn, presented their autonomous self-service libraries to the Head of State. Almaty libraries are planning further expansion of the system, which will make it possible to implement the “Library within walking distance” principle. By the way, autonomous self-service libraries allow you to independently check out publications and return them to the library using an electronic library card.
