Children’s joy at the heart of attention: Almaty Libraries present a special program for International Children’s Day

Festive events to be held at Almaty Libraries for International Children’s Day
In celebration of International Children’s Day, observed annually on June 1, Almaty Libraries have prepared a vibrant and engaging program for young residents and visitors of the city. This day is not only a joyful occasion for children but also an important reminder of the need to protect children’s rights and support the well-being of future generations.
The festive program will include concerts, educational and cultural entertainment activities, interactive zones, quizzes, and charitable initiatives across the city’s libraries.
June 1
At Krylov Children’s Library, a quest titled “Счастливый ребёнок – надёжное будущее” will begin at 10:00 a.m. The program will also feature an open house, a concert, presentations of new books, and book exhibitions.
At 11:00 a.m. in Gandhi Park, the Mukhtar Auezov Library will present the festive program “Бақыт деген – сенің бала күндерің”.
At Library No. 14, an educational quest titled “Сияющее детство” will take place at 11:00 a.m., featuring various challenges and engaging activities.
At the Almaty Libraries branch located at 1B Belger Street, a children’s celebration titled “Біз – бақытты баламыз” will begin at 11:00 a.m.
At Gymnasium School No. 162, Library No. 26 will organize a quiz, songs, and dances under the title “Бала тілі – бал” at 11:00 a.m.
At Library No. 33, a festive evening titled “Балаларға қуаныш сыйлайық” will be held at 11:00 a.m.
At 3:00 p.m., an amphitheater concert program titled “Дети – наше будущее” will take place with the support of the Family Reading Library, featuring professional animators and entertainment activities.
June 2
At 12:00 p.m., Alatau Creative Hub will host the charitable cultural event “Тысяча книг в дар”, featuring writer, playwright, and public figure Ilyas Yusuf.
This socially significant initiative is being implemented in support of the Head of State’s directives aimed at promoting a culture of reading, strengthening the intellectual potential of the younger generation, and advancing the national “Reading Nation” project.
As part of the event, the author will celebrate the seventh anniversary of his literary career and donate his books in both Kazakh and Russian to schools, libraries, and young readers. Among the donated works are the comic series about the Kazakh Khanate, “Керей и Жанибек,” as well as the books “Тень ангела”, “Ночная симфония”, “Я вчера. Сегодня. Завтра”, “Жизнь моими глазами” and others.
Almaty Libraries place special emphasis on creating meaningful leisure opportunities for children, fostering their creativity, and strengthening spiritual and cultural values through initiatives that inspire learning, imagination, and a lifelong love of reading.
