Presentation of Sapargali Begalin’s «Әңгімелер» Collection Held in Almaty

Today, the Central City Children’s Library named after Sapargali Begalin hosted the official presentation of «Әңгімелер» a collection by the outstanding Kazakh writer, poet, and one of the founders of Kazakh children’s literature, Sapargali Begalin. The book was published by Meloman Publishing.
The event was attended by the writer’s granddaughter, Gulnar Khamitkyzy Begalina; writer Nurdaulet Akysh; representatives of Meloman Publishing; the management of the Public Development Center under the Almaty City Department of Internal Policy; literary scholars, public figures, representatives of the cultural sector, and literature enthusiasts.
During the event, speeches were delivered by Gulnar Begalina and Karakoz Turganova, Managing Editor at Meloman Publishing. In their remarks, they emphasized the significance of Sapargali Begalin’s literary legacy and his invaluable contribution to the education and moral development of younger generations.
Special attention was given to the newly published collection Äñgimeler, which is expected to promote reading among children and teenagers, foster a greater interest in books, and contribute to the preservation and promotion of Kazakhstan’s national literary heritage. The collection features some of the author’s finest short stories, including «Жас бұтақ», «Бала мерген», «Есеннің кірпісі» and many others.
As part of the program, guests enjoyed performances of traditional Kazakh instrumental music alongside classical compositions.
The event also featured an educational interactive crossword game titled The Magic Suitcase, during which participants shared their thoughts on Sapargali Begalin’s works and discussed the current development of Kazakh children’s literature.
The presentation contributed to fostering young people’s interest in their native language and national literature, promoting the creative legacy of Sapargali Begalin, and preserving, strengthening, and advancing the spiritual and cultural values of the Kazakh people.
