A Festive Evening Dedicated to the Creative Legacy of the Great Composer Was Held in Almaty

On August 14, the M. Auezov Library in Almaty hosted a festive evening titled «Шәмші Қалдаяқов – сырлы ән, сазды ғұмыр», dedicated to the birthday of Shamshi Kaldayakov, the “King of the Kazakh Waltz,” prominent composer and People’s Artist of Kazakhstan.

The event was attended by Honored Artist of the Republic of Kazakhstan and recipient of the Order of “Құрмет” Sulushash Kulzhabaikyzy, historian and PhD holder Berik Agybayev, writer and member of the Writers’ Unions of China, Gansu Province and Xinjiang Küläshkhan Mukamethankyzy, singer and composer Nurbay Kalbynur, academician and head of the “Altyn Hanymdar” group Botan Beketbaiqyzy, cultural worker of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nurzhamal Ashimkhan, as well as the composer’s contemporaries and admirers of his art.

During the event, guests shared their memories of Shamshi Kaldayakov’s life and creative journey and expressed their warm wishes. The composer’s most popular songs were performed, while the significance of his works in the history of Kazakh musical culture was also discussed.

In addition, a national costume fashion show was organized with the participation of the “Altyn Hanymdar” group. The show presented traditional Kazakh costumes, highlighting their distinctive features and artistic significance.

The evening was an inspiring cultural event that honored the rich legacy of the great composer and brought his timeless songs to life once again.
