A Literary Evening «Абай – дана, Абай – дара қазақта» Held in Almaty

Today, the A.P. Chekhov Central City Library hosted the literary and musical evening «Абай – дана, Абай – дара қазақта» dedicated to the birthday of the great Kazakh poet, philosopher, educator, and founder of Kazakh written literature, Abai Qunanbaiuly.

The purpose of the event was to promote Abai’s rich literary heritage, profound philosophical ideas, and spiritual values, foster national values among the younger generation, present the poet’s exemplary life as a model, and encourage young people to continue Abai’s legacy.

The event was attended by Doctor of Philological Sciences and Professor Qanseyit Abdezuly, Director of the “Хәкім Абай” Research Center at Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University Zhabal Alshynbekuly, scholar and public figure Asyly Osman, firefighters from the Almaty Department of Emergency Situations, representatives of the intellectual community, and literature enthusiasts.

During the evening, the distinguished guests shared their insights on Abai’s literary heritage, his outstanding role in Kazakh spirituality, and the enduring relevance of his works in contemporary society. A special book exhibition dedicated to Abai’s legacy was also organized, featuring his literary works, research publications, and books about his life and creative achievements.

As part of the event, students of the Innovation Creativity Center for Schoolchildren recited Abai’s poems and his insightful Words of Edification (Kara Sozder), leaving a lasting impression on the audience. In addition, some of the poet’s most beloved songs were performed, while the harmony of traditional music and poetry enriched the spiritual atmosphere of the evening.

The literary evening «Абай – дана, Абай – дара қазақта» became a meaningful cultural event that honored Abai’s invaluable legacy, introduced participants to the richness of Kazakhstan’s spiritual heritage, and inspired younger generations to embrace the timeless wisdom and values of the great poet.
