Nihal Atsız. The Grey Wolves

The first book of the novel The Grey Wolves, titled The Death of the Abadans, tells the story of the decline of the Göktürk Khaganate, weakened and divided as a result of deception by the Tabghach state. At the heart of the story is the uprising of forty warriors led by Kür Şad, who risked their lives in a desperate struggle for independence.

The second book, The Grey Wolves Rise Again, takes place fifty years after the unforgettable uprising of the forty warriors. Under the leadership of Qutlugh Şad, the Turks once again raise the wolf-banner and revive the Second Göktürk Khaganate.

It is an epic of courage, statehood, self-sacrifice, freedom, and an indomitable spirit.
